If someone actually asks for suggestions or you know a product that could solve a problem for a person that is asking for it...You can use an affiliate link if:
You are replying to someone with actual useful info on the product.
This doesn't mean start topics in various forums just to drop your affiliate link...

Everyone that reads that section of the forum understand that we do not police it... meaning we are not responsible for you buying a product mentioned in there... That is completely on you. All up to you... If you buy something from there and lose $5000... that is all your fault. Just like anywhere else on the forum... You are responsible for what you buy.
